LeBron James??™s Baby Name Choice Slammed In Cleveland

It’s not often that local media weighs in on the baby name choices of local sports heroes. But that’s just what happened in today’s Cleveland Plain Dealer.

As we reported yesterday, LeBron James’s? girlfriend Savannah Brinson gave birth to? their second son,? naming him Bryce Maximus. We chose to focus on the real news, pointing out that Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich and girlfriend Connie Nielsen chose the same name a few weeks ago.

A writer for the Cleveland Plain Dealer did a story on the name today, beginning with the headline: “Cute name, but no slam-dunk“. He wrote that it’s “a solid name, strong with a nice cadence,”? but “not exactly creative.” He thought LeBron ought to have named his second son LeBron, just like his first, so as to help push the name LeBron into the top 1000 most popular names.

I think he misses the point. He assumes that Bryce is just a run-of-the-mill name. Not anymore. Not when two celebrities as different as LeBron James and Lars Ulrich chose it. Something must be going on.

Bryce may just be the hot new boys’ name of 2007.

Scarface on ???Dancing With The Stars????

scarface.jpg
It may sound unlikely, but Al Pacino says he’d like to take part in the US version of Strictly Come Dancing.

Talking to Time Magazine, the 67-year-old Ocean’s Thirteen actor revealed he knows a thing or two about how to move around a dance floor: “All due respect and trying to be as modest as I can be, I am a dancer.”

When asked if he’d perform on the US’s equivalent of the BBC ballroom show, Dancing with the Stars, the actor gave a rather surprising answer: “Actually, I would consider it.”

But Pacino fans shouldn’t hold there breath about seeing the star rumba, he went on to explain “I don’t think I would [happen] mainly because I would be too shy.”

Al Pacino is shy? If he does suck you better not laugh or Manny will shoot you. Yes i’ve seen Scarface way to many times.

Kelly Clarkson??™s career is falling apart

kelly_clarkson.jpg
Just two days after parting ways with her manager, Kelly Clarkson has canceled her upcoming summer tour over disappointing ticket sales, yet another sign of turmoil as she prepares to release her third album, “My December.”

In a statement on her Web site, Clarkson said: “In the craziness of the music business, performing is what I look forward to doing the most, so it really is disappointing for me to have to tell you that I won’t be coming out to tour this summer. The fact is that touring is just too much too soon.

“But I promise you that we’re going to get back out there as soon as is humanly possible to give you a show that will be even better,” she added.

In a statement released by her new representative, Paul Freundlich, it acknowledged the sales for the arena tour have been slow. The tour will be on hold and the size of it will be re-evaluated, the statement said.

It’s not like her singing career is over, she wanted to do the album herself and it bomb.. badly. Once she works with the people that help make her first album then she’ll be back on top. There is no way Kelly Clarkson is done yet.
