Jodie Foster is quoted in the L.A. Daily News as thanking her,

“??¦ beautiful Cydney who sticks with me through all the rotten and the bliss,”

during her acceptance speech for the Sherry Lansing Leadership Award at the 16th annual Women in Entertainment Power 100 Breakfast on Tuesday. The article goes on to conjecture that the Cydney she refers to is her long time friend Cydney Bernard.

It has been long stated by sites like IMDb that Foster and Bernard share more than a friendship and that the two have been life partners nearly since they first met on the set of Sommersby in 1993. However Jodie Foster has always kept her life, including her sexual orientation very private. Publicly thanking Bernard is seen by many to mark the beginning of the star’s coming out.

Recently Foster has had a series of little leaks, all documented by After Ellen; such as the gifting of two plaques bearing her sons names (Kit Bernard Foster and Charles Bernard Foster) to the Saban Center of Health and Youth in July. When Foster was questioned about her lovely, and prominent, eternity ring during an interview with More Magazine in September, the actress commented that she simply doesn’t “take it off,” before closing the subject.

The Gay Lesbian Transgender community took the news with a grain of salt however. Focusing instead on how very little validity Foster’s words really gave to the resounding cries of she’s “come out,” Gay.com. The website also asked it’s readers to comment on Foster’s words and the ensuing media frenzy. The views seemed to range between - she may or may not be gay, to - she’ll come out if she wants to, in her own time.

Kiefer Sutherland started his 48 day prison sentence on Wednesday, December 6th, when he checked into the Glendale City Jail which is considered a private prison facility. In addition to his month and a half stint the 24 star must also complete five years of probation and an eighteen month alcohol education program.

It’s been noted that he will be in a cell by himself, because he??™s considered a ???long term??? inmate and will be working along with the other residents in the kitchen and with laundry. Glendale’s Chief of Police Randy Adams said Sutherland, who took a very handsome mug shot, was cooperative during the booking process and wouldn’t be treated different from anyone else.

If he does all 48 days Kiefer will be incarcerated for Christmas, New Years, his birthday, December 21st, and the Golden Globes on January 13th but will be out just in time for the SAG awards.
