Christina Ricci was sexually assaulted by a chimpanzee on the set of her latest movie.

The actress, who already has a phobia of the animal, revealed Chim Chim grabbed her left breast while she was filming Penelope.

Christina - who plays a woman born with a pig’s nose in the movie - said: “I’m afraid of monkeys, but I had decided not to be afraid of Chim Chim because no one else is. I thought, ‘Everyone else thinks he’s awesome so just be cool.’

“It’s the first day of shooting and I have this kitchen scene where I’m sitting down and Chim Chim is sitting right next to me. Of course, it freaks out during the take and grabs my left breast and will not let go, and he’s so strong.”

Christina was so terrified she had to be rescued by her fellow co-stars, including Reese Witherspoon, James McAvoy and Richard E Grant.

She revealed: “I’m so freaked out and the rest of the actors are facing the other way so no one sees that this has happened to me and I’m like, ‘Help, help’ as quietly and calmly as possible so this thing does not freak out any further.

“Finally they got him off me but my fear is completely validated and I did not go near him for the rest of the shoot. Monkeys are crazy and you never what they’ll grab onto - I don’t like unpredictable animals.”

Pop star Madonna is still the material girl, earning $72 million in a recent 12-month period to top a Forbes.com list of female singers whom the financial website dubbed “Cash Queens of Music.”

Madonna, who rose to recording superstardom in the 1980s as the “Material Girl” after her hit song of that name, beat out Barbra Streisand, who was No 2 with annual earnings of $60 million, and Celine Dion at $45 million, according to Forbes.com.

The website tracked earnings in the period from June 2006 to June 2007 and said it examined concert ticket sales, merchandise revenue, album sales and earnings from ancillary products such as clothing, perfumes and endorsements.

Rounding out the top five on Forbes.com’s “Cash Queens of Music” poll were Colombian singing sensation Shakira at No 4 with $38 million and R&B singer Beyonce with $27 million.

Country music stars also did well, with Faith Hill landing in the No 8 slot with $19 million and the Dixie Chicks at No 9 with $18 million.

Then there was Britney Spears. For all her troubles in the past year — a stint in rehab and a bitter custody battle with ex-husband Kevin Federline, among them — the pop star still made No. 14 on the list, earning $8 million from royalties on old songs and sales of her perfume, Curious.

Her latest album, “Blackout,” was released late in 2007 after the period covered by the Forbes.com survey.

Late last year, Madonna ended her long relationship with Warner Music Group Corp and reached a recording deal with concert promoter Live Nation Inc.

It seems all the rumors of plots to have her committed had more than a little truth in them, earlier this morning at about 1am Pacific Time, Britney Spears was taken to the hospital, again. Is it possible the troubled pop singer has been committed against her will?

According to ABC News it’s more than possible, it’s highly probable. In the state of California where Britney lives, it’s almost par for the course. “Under a state statute known as 5150, an individual who is considered by a medical professional to be a danger to herself, others or is known to be gravely disabled can be involuntarily committed to a mental institution by her family or even friends.” The individual is held for 72 hours for evaluation after which they can either commit themselves voluntarily or their family can petition that they be held for another 14 days of evaluation.

“5150s are so common that they are an almost daily occurrence, and cops are often called upon to help transport unruly patients to hospitals, where they will they be kept on hold.”

All a person really needs to get a family member committed under 5150 is the approval of a trained professional like a psychiatrist, a nurse, or a police officer.? 

This morning Britney’s psychiatrist was the one who made the call according to the LA Times. When exactly the call was placed is undisclosed, however it was quickly apparent to all that this time the operation was carefully planned ahead of time. When Britney was taken to the hospital earlier this month after refusing to turn over her sons after a scheduled visitation, her ambulance was closely followed by the press, but this time the ambulance was closely shadowed by police and other emergency vehicles so that the star couldn’t be tailed. Even the airspace was cleared a source told People,

“the motorcade and everything was planned, it was already in the works to have them block off the road and airspace. It worked out perfectly.”

The NY Daily News reports that Britney’s erratic driving earlier that evening prompted the call. “She was driving around her neighborhood like a mad-woman. Britney has been prescribed medication which she refuses to take. This is just another sad, sad evening.”

Despite the police presence or the massive press coverage of her second hospitalization in a month Britney is said to be taking it all in stride. People reports that Britney went willingly this time around even chatting and joking about her second visit in the waiting room. This time Britney’s family is pressing for the pop star to stay at the hospital for the full 72 hours.? 

Currently, Sam Lufti, Britney’s sometime manager, and her father Jamie Spear are at the hospital with her according to People. Lynne Spears was seen leaving Britney’s home shortly after the pop singer was removed, with Adnan Ghalib in the backseat of the car, possibly headed for the hospital as well. At this point there’s not much to say except what one source already said:

“Pray, please.”
